Dinner last night

Hi SlimBuddies,

rn

My husbands brother and wife are visiting my father-in-law for a month.  They are from Louisiana.  Last night we all went to dinner, and I felt so happy with my choices.  I can tell that I have been practicing good eating habits.  I ordered a Reuben Sandwich, when it came it came with potato chips.  I had water with it, and ate only a half of it, and brought home the other half.

rn

I have an apple shape, and I feel like I am deflating!  That is such a good feeling, as I have more to go.  I know I have lost in the area that was making me feel so sluggish.

rn

I have been riding my exercise bike for 3 miles a day!  This weather is so hot, and the bike has been perfect for me to exercise.

rn

The wedding is on Sunday!  I am so pleased that I have been following a healthy regimen.  I was getting so sleepy before that I could hardly keep my eyes open.  Now I feel like I can be the sociable person that I am, not the sleepy one.  lol

rn

Have a great day!

Planning day

Hi SlimBuddies!

rn

Part of the success of being what you want to be starts in the brain.  This morning my brain is busy thinking of what I am going to eat for breakfast, lunch, and supper.  My brain says you better checkin with your buddies  and see how they are doing.  It is amazing to me all the energy and motivation comes with the meeting of all of our collective minds.  Each of our minds decides what kind of person we are going to be, and then proceeds to plan on how to be that person.

rn

I remember when I was in my early twenties with three little ones already; I met an (older to me at the time 30 years old) lol    She was totally put together.  She had a family also.  I asked her how do you stay looking so good with all the work you have to do with a family.  She said, I take care of my family all day, and I devote one hour a day for myself.  Sometimes it is just doing my nails, washing a load of my sweaters, or soaking in the tub for an hour.  But one hour a day is mine.  I haven’t followed that advice myself, but at times I think of it, and what a good idea it is.

rn

This week I have done some me time,  got my hair cut, I colored my hair, went to the dermatologist (my skin was really dry}  checking in on all my buddies, and planning my menu and activity each day.

rn

With all of our minds on the same track working to figure out how to make our bodies do what we want them to we can’t fail.

rn

Have a great day!

Lost 3 pounds

Hi Everyone,

rn

I lost three pounds!  I lost them last week, but somehow I found them.  lol  I have been eating pretty regular meals, I cut out all white foods.  I stepped up my exercise.  My weighin was Monday, but I weighed in again.  I am on my way down, down, down, lol.  I feel better, and my energy level is better.

rn

Take care slimbuddies!

Busy day

Hi Everyone,

rn

Today I am getting ready for my children and grandchildren to come home for the wedding.  I rode my exercise bike 3 miles again today.  I may ride it everyday until the wedding instead of just 4 times a week.

rn

For breakfast I had shredded wheat, later a banana, and for dinner a chicken breast that I had cooked in the crockpot last week, with asparagus, and a whole wheat bagle.  I was out of oranges so I went to the grocery store and bought a sack.

rn

I am still considering the crunches; I am going to watch the tape again to familiarize myself with the exercises.

rn

Have a great evening everyone.

Checking in

Hi Everyone,

rn

No news on any new weight loss.   A few days the scale was waivering toward a lower number, but it waivered right back to where it was.  I am continuing to do what I am doing riding the exercise bike 3 miles, and eating healthy meals.

rn

My daughter  is getting married July 2nd, and I have at least lost 11.  I was hoping for a little more.  I will keep up my regimen, and continue to watch what I am doing that may be contributing to keeping my weight on.

rn

I wanted to add crunches to my routine, but don’t want to say too much about it, unless I actually do them.  I watched the tape that comes with the crunch bar so that I would be familiar with the exercises when I try them.  These exercises are for the abdomen.  I may start them after the wedding because I don’t want my muscles to be too sore.

rn

With walking, and the exercise bike I have the lower body muscles pretty well covered, but I need more upper body exercise.

rn

Goodnight everyone; sleep tight!

Sunday morning

Hi Everyone,

rn

This morning I had a bowl of shredded wheat, and rode my exercise bike 3 miles in 24.41 minutes.  Yesterday I walked two miles with my husband on the trail nearby.  All in all I think I am making slow but steady progress.

rn

I am going to get some chicken and defrost it, and put it in the crockpot.  I want to have chicken and mixed vegetables for dinner today.

rn

I have managed very well to stay away from the potato chips, dip, cookies, pop.  So think of me when you are trying to resist the junk food.  My house is laden with junk food, and I am not touching it.  Yea!

rn

Have a great day!

Quiet Saturday

Hi Everyone,

rn

Today my husband and I went shopping, and I picked up a box of shredded wheat, and he picked up a huge box of chocolate chip cookies, and two bags of potato chips.  Before we went I had a banana, and coffee.  When we came back I had a tuna sandwich on wheat, so I wasn’t tempted to much.  I feel my willpower is doing really well.  It really helps to have alternative healthy food in the house.  I will be needing to go shopping pretty soon to keep healthy food around.

rn

Take care.  Have a great weekend.

Another day on track

Hi Everyone!

rn

This morning is a nice cool rainy morning.  I  got up and had a cup of coffee, and a banana.  I am saving my carbohydrates for later.  I pulled out a calorie counter that I had that came with a Richard Simmons tape, and I decided to use it.  The counter has a card with 1400 calories, or if you wish higher calories you can use a different card.  You simply pull down the tab of the food group that you ate, and the water you drink.  When you are through with one food group, you may still eat the food from the other food groups that are left.  There are three starches, when you get done with it that is that for the day, but you still have protein groups, or fruit and vegetable group tabs to pull.  Generally I can’t eat everything, but it does show me how much I can have of the carbohydrates.  The carbohydrates tabs get pulled down fast, but the fruit and vesgetable tabs usually have plenty left.  This is a great help to see what your eating and drinking, and it is practically effortless.  There are also inspiration tabs, which you read, and pull down each day as you read them.  I hope this isn’t confusing for anyone.

rn

Have a great day!  Stay  on track!

Beautiful day!

Hi SlimBuddies!

rn

This past week has been wonderful having my daughter stay with me for awhile.  I took her home, and I stayed over with her. Julies’ scale is right, and it is only 3 pounds different than mine!  I was happy about that, because I was afraid that my scale was seriously off.  That means my readings are not too bad.  I am going to continue to go by my scale for the readings of the weight, because that is the measure that I started with.

rn

The scale is budging!  Yea!  I saw a program of a doctor that has a new book out on television.  He of course said the same things as the diet doctors usually say, and that is no white food.  No white rice, white potatoes, white bread, etc.  That is where I was messing up.  Although I eat pretty much healthy foods, baked, not fried, I was eating baked potatoes.  The potato was messing up my weight loss.  I eliminated it, and the scale responded pretty quickly.  I wasn’t eating a big potato, but I guess that it is true, don’t eat white food.  This is not scientific on my part, but I guess from a diet standpoint of the weightloss doctors.  I hope that the weight loss continues, it isn’t much, but it is a start from my plateau.  My weighin will be Monday, which we will see if potatoes were the culprit.

rn

My daughters wedding is coming soon, and I am going to get an outfit for it.  I am happy that I lost what I have because I feel better, and my energy level is better.  I get thrown  for a loop sometimes, but I bounce back!  lol

rn

Take care buddies!

Fathers Day

Hi Everyone,

rn

Have a great day today!  Hope all of you enjoy fathers day.  We are going to walk on trails today.  My husband and I are going to walk with Julie up in the mountains.  Today is going to be a relaxing day.  Tomorrow I am taking Julie back to her place.

rn

I am almost done with my chicken vegetable soup, which has very little calories.  I have really been careful with what I eat.  I feel great, but the scale isn’t showing any difference.  My portions have been small, as a matter of fact, some meals I couldn’t finish.

rn

This morning I am going to have oatmeal, and a whole wheat bagle.  Later on I think we are going to eat up in the mountains.  There are pretty good places there.  We are going to OhioPyle, which is beautiful.

rn

Hope all of you are doing well.  Thanks everyone for commenting on my journal.  Take care.
