Exercise done for today

rn

Hi Everyone,

rn

This morning I got up and had my coffee in my new County Crock cups.  Then I had a bowl of cereal, and proceeded to do my exercises.  I whizzed through the exercise bike, and did three miles, and then did the ab-doer for twelve minutes.  I can’t believe I got through the exercise bike three miles so quickly.  I guess I will be ready to turn up the resistance again.  I added weights this morning; they only weigh one pound apiece, and I did a set of ten.  I really don’t want to build muscle up on my top, but am more interested at this point at losing inches with the ab-doer.

rn

My plans for the day are up in the air a little.  I am still planning my menu, and I need to do a little grocery shopping.  I think I am going  to make Salmon patties for tonight, with vegetables, and a potato for DH.  I am still watching white starches, and I think that is helping me.

rn

Today is quiet, and I am going to use my quiet time to do a little menu planning.  All of you take care, and have a great weekend!

Vicious Dogs

rn

Hi Everyone,

rn

Yesterday was a busy day for me.  I was on a freecycle quest.  I put an address into my navigator, and away I went to get some things.  I was on the way to see my daughters’.  I took one daughter to lunch, and visited with her.  Then I went to see another daughter who lived near her, and we had tea, and then I was headed home, which is an hour and a half away from where I was.  My oldest daughter is half way between home, and my other two daughters.  I went to her house, and all was dark, so I went home.   When I got home no one was here for awhile so I was looking through all the freecycle things that I had gotten earlier in the day.  I got a few things that I can give to my daughter in Virginia, which are a really nice bagel toaster, four slicer, and a nice Black and Decker can opener, and 8 Country Crock cups!  I think these cups are going to be my new favorite cups to have my coffee and tea in.

rn

Anyway my husband came home last night from visiting his father, and he said he had talked to my oldest daughter last night before she went to a chanber of commerce meeting.  Before she went to the Chamber of commerce meeting, she was just out of the shower and the phone rang, and it was a neighbor saying that two big vicious boxers were after her little Dashound Oscar.  So she threw on a bathrobe, and slippers, and ran to the door, and the two dogs were right over Oscar, and Oscar was lying down and had messed himself he was so scared.  She called Oscar in, and the dogs started to go after Franco, her Springer Spaniel.  She called Franco in, and he immediately came in, which is unusual for him, because he usually doesn’t pay any attention to her when she calls, but he was really scared.  Then the dogs turned on her, she was in the garage and they were headed toward her snarling, and she grabbed a bat.  She hit on on the head, and it ran off with the other one following.  She called the animal control, and said they have had complaints about these dogs before, and this is never going to happen again.

rn

I told my husband animals usually protect their owners, but this time she saved their lives.  She probably surprised herself, as she is afraid of taking mice out of a mouse trap, has a phobia of bugs, and spiders, etc.  I guess you get brave when there is danger around.

rn

This morning I slept in, but made oatmeal, ate a banana, had my coffee in those large Country Crocks.  I am so pleased with them.  I talked to my daughters, and I am behind on my exercise schedule, but will do it, and I am going to catch up with all of my wonderful buddies.

rn

All of you have a great day, and take care of yourselves.

Short note

rn

Hi Everyone,

rn

I woke up too early this morning, and I am going to go back to sleep for a little while.  I made oatmeal, and had a couple of cups of coffee.  I couldn’t sleep last night, and I am going to my daughters today, which is an hour and a half away.  I will catch up on your blogs probably tomorrow.  So take care, and stay on track while I am gone.  lol

Ab-doer results

Hi Everyone,

rn

I am so happy today!  I lost another pound!  The results on the chart are changed because I got a new scale, and had to add four more pounds.  Now I have lost two of those pounds, and I am happy.  I lost six inches around my waist with the ab-doer.  The ab-doer is an arobic exercise for the mid-section, that you can use sitting down, in case anyone is having trouble with knees and feet.  I measure my waist sporadically, because you know the old saying a watched pot never boils.  lol  I was totally shocked when I measured my waist today.  At the rate I am going, slowly, but surely I will reach my mini-goal.  I really feel that this weight is going to stay off this time.  I am in this quest for healthy living for life!  I really would like to get to my mini-goal soon, but am not worried if I don’t.  Slowly, but surely.

rn

This morning I had a bowl of special K, and a banana.  This afternoon I had cottage cheese mixed with pineapple.  This evening will be roast beef, broccoli, and a beverage.  I have been drinking a lot of green tea; I like to hold something warm when it is cold to keep my hands warm.  lol

rn

If I can make this progress, which is great for me; all of you can do it.  I am so happy with myself I can’t stand myself.  lol  I bet you can’t either.  lol

rn

Take care all, and have a great day.

Flu Shot

Hi Everyone,

rn

Today I made oatmeal and coffee, then went to get a flu shot with DH.  We got our flu shots, and came home, and I rode the exercise bike three miles.  I still have the ab-doer to do, which is helping me tremendously.  I am down four inches in the chest under the fullest part.  My measurements were two inches shy of being right.  I am so pleased.

rn

We went to a housewarming for our youngest daughter, which was very pleasant.  Almost everyone there was thin!  I was so happy that I have been exercising everyday, and eating right also.  I have two sons, one had noticed prior to this that I had lost weight, and the other one said I was disappearing into nothing.  lol  My son-in-law told my husband that he thought I was losing weight, and looked good.  It feels good when people are saying nice things behind your back.  lol

rn

There was a man there that had lost fifty pounds last year, and is gaining a little back.  He had some teeth removed, and couldn’t eat, and lost weight that way.  Overall there wasn’t too many people there that had to lose weight.  My daughter moved to “Skinnyville”!  lol

rn

My daughter had a lot of food there, and people were eating like refugees.  lol  I took a little piece of the cake, but other than that I ate pretty well.

rn

Take care everyone, and hope all of you reach your goals soon.  In the meantime enjoy the journey!

I’m back!

rn

Hi Everyone,

rn

This week I watched pretty carefully what I ate while I was visiting my daughters.  DD doesn’t keep goodies in the house so it was easy.  I took a pork roast that I had cooked prior to going, and we ate that with vegetables, and a little pasta.  Our meals were pretty balanced.  I made oatmeal for two of the mornings, and had taken some Post Honey Bunches Oat cereal.  We mostly visited, and I didn’t get any exercise in, but exercised on the bike this morning.  After I write in the journal I am going to do the ab-doer exercises.  I lost two inches under the fullest part of my chest!

rn

This morning I tried a new recipe.  I read in my food calorie counter book, that one serving of pancakes was a pancake the size of a CD.  I measured a third of a cup of pancake mix, one third Post Honey Bunches of Oats, one third cup milk, and an egg.  This made two pancakes each the size of a CD.  I am going to count that as my bread today.  I am a little off schedule, because of being away, but I am getting back into gear.  I am going to make a chicken, and vegetables for myself, and my DH.  DH needs more calories so I will make mashed potatoes or a baked potato for him.

rn

I think that I am going to mix up pineapple and cottage cheese, and that is what I am going to have for lunch.  I don’t worry about measuring these I just put a container of  l percent fat cottage cheese with a can of unsweetened pineapple with the juice.

rn

My youngest daughter is having a housewarming party Saturday, so I will eat something before her party, and avoid the chips, etc.

rn

As always I really appreciate all the kind remarks on my blogs.  All of you are great buddies!  I wish all of you well, and best luck on your journey to health.

rn

Take care.

Up Early!

rn

Hi Everyone!

rn

This morning I woke up bright eyed and bushy tailed, so I got up.  I made my coffee, oatmeal, and had a banana.  Then I did my ab-doer warm-up, and got my three miles in on the exercise bike.

rn

Last night we went out for dinner with my father-in-law, and brother-in-law.  I had the special, which was beef stroganoff.  I cut my portion in half, and brought half home.  Pasta seems to put weight right on me.  I was about a half a pound heavier this morning, than yesterday morning.  I should never eat white pasta again in my life!  Anyhow this morning I ate really early, and my husband wanted to take me to a buckwheat pancake breakfast.  I thought, “Oh no, calories.”  So I  asked him to go with his dad and brother, because I really want to lose weight, and not eat things that “stick” to me.

rn

While we were at dinner I didn’t eat any of the hot white rolls at the table, and I drank water.  I have been watching calories, and I am getting a pretty good idea of what does my diet in.

rn

This morning while I was riding my exercise bike I was reading my book about vegetables.  The book has all the varieties of vegetables, and ideas on how to prepare them.  I am sixty-four years old and I have never eaten a turnip!  I am going to make sure that this year sometime I am going to buy a turnip, and taste it.

rn

This coming week I will be visiting my daughters, and granddaughter so it will be a little challenge for me to get enough exercise.  I feel so much better when I exercise everyday.  I very seldom miss a day, and when I do I miss how I feel when I do my exercise.

rn

All of you keep at what you are doing!  Your doing great!  Have a great weekend!

Ab-doer results

rn

Hi Everyone!

rn

Today has been a quiet day.  I had a bowl of Special K, and did my 3 miles on the exercise bike, and the ab-doer warm-ups.  This afternoon I had a lean cuisine for lunch, and for supper a tomato sandwich.  I measured my waist, and I lost another inch around the waist!  I lost four inches off my waist.  I believe it is from using the ab-doer every other day, and the warm-up everyday.  I am so happy to be getting a nicer waist; plus it is healthier.

rn

Thanks for all your wonderful remarks on my blog, it means a lot to me.  I am the type of person who wakes up in a good mood usually, but lately I needed a lift.  Thanks for the lift!

rn

Take care everyone, and have a good evening!

Anticipatory Grief

rn

Hi Everyone,

rn

Many of my buddies know that I have a daughter on the transplant list.  She is still waiting for a transplant, and she is okay for now.  She looks so beautiful, and to look at her you would never know that anything was wrong.  She has been rejecting for awhile now; she had a triple transplant 13 years ago.  The transplant may take up to a year for her to receive; generally  I try to keep myself from thinking negatively, but a month ago a buddy on here lost their niece who had a heart transplant, and she was only 13.  This blew me away.  I get so anxious, and there is nowhere for that anxiety to go.  I talk to my DD every day, and her voice is so sweet, and she is so gentle.  I am usually the person that cheers everyone else up, and I hate to be down, but I know that everyone has to go through something during their life.

rn

My husband is going to go on a fishing trip, and I am going to spend some time with DD and granddaughter.  I want to do some fun things with her and her daughter.  I live an hour and a half away from them.   So I may stay with them a few days, and catch a movie, dinner, etc.

rn

Right now I am experiencing anticipatory grief, which is making me very anxious.  I am going to try to overcome this by having fun with my daughter and granddaughter.

rn

Take care buddies!  Goodnight, sleep tight!
