Return of the cookie monster! lol

Hi Everyone,

rn

All of you know that DH is my cookie monster.  He loves junk food; I do also, but am okay if it isn’t around me.

rn

Tonight I am making whole wheat spaghetti with parmesan sauce, chicken,  and portabello mushrooms, and am going to have mixed vegetables for a side dish.  He wanted to take me out to dinner tonight, but since he is traveling all day from Louisiana to South Carolina, then a two hour wait, and then he will get to Pittsburgh about 3:00 PM.  By the time he gets his suitcase, and goes through rush hour traffic it will be late by the time he gets here.

rn

Before he left there were potato chips here, and he took them with him because I told him I was going to throw them out.  I am going to really work at keeping the junk food out of our house.

rn

I was reading an excerpt from a book that a doctor wrote, and he said people are digging their graves one fork and spoonful at a time, and if we were ground up like ground meat, we wouldn’t be good enough to sell because of our fat content.

rn

Today I am going to get my exercise in before DH comes home, shower, and have a nice meal ready.  That is the trivia from this front.  lol

rn

Take care everyone, and have a great day.

Computer glasses

Hi Everyone,

rn

I have had two weeks almost totally in solitary confinement, because of my husband going to Louisiana for two weeks, and the weather.

rn

Yesterday I went to an eye check-up, and I have 20 - 20 vision, but I have astigmatism.  I was shocked at what the price of glasses were with insurance.  I could get computer glasses on-line way cheaper than at the optomitrist.  Yesterday I had a price quote of 299.00 after the 150.00 that the insurance pays!  I just went home and decided what to do next.  I went to the office again this morning, and I said why have insurance if the price is so high, and you can get a better price at Sam’s club, or WalMart for prescriptions.  I asked the girl at the optomitrist if I would be allowed to bring in my own frames.  I saw a lot of frames on-line, that were designer frames, and very reasonable.  She said that I could.  I asked her is there anything here that my insurance would cover?  So she showed me some discontinued frames, they were okay, not what I wanted, but good enough to be on the computer.  The final cost was 73.00  vs 299.00.   I got the features of the lenses, which were important to me to protect my eyes.

rn

Another thing that bothers me, is that why isn’t the 50 Percent coupons off the glasses good, when you have insurance.  They are getting their money from the insurance instead of right out of my pocket.

rn

So I got something done, and I am feeling pretty happy about this, if anyone is watching their money, it is cheaper to order your frames on-line, and then get the prescription lenses you want.  At least it was where I went.

rn

Take care everyone.  Have a great day!  I hope all of you meet your goals soon!  Stay healthy!

Just goodnight!

Hi Everyone,

rn

I finished my food journal, and didn’t do much in the exercise department today.  I did do some recycling, and put the garbage out for tomorrow.  I sorted out the papers, plastic, glass, cardboard, and took them to the recycling center.  I hardly had a thing to put in the garbage.  The landfills are quickly filling up, and I really feel strongly about recycling.  I think that if everyone did a little bit, that would really help our environment.  The children, and grandchildren really need to have a nice world to live in.

rn

I hope that all of you are staying healthy!  Good luck to all of you, and may you attain your goals soon.  Take care.

Don’t try just do!

Hi Everyone,

rn

I was watching the Oprah Winfrey show, and she had a man speaking about how to achieve what you really want.? He said, ‘Don’t try, just do’? I? was thinking about that this weekend, and I really believe that he is 100 percent right.? Trying may be just a part- time thing, where doing is a full-time thing.? What he said made so much sense I am not even going to go on about it.

rn

I have been doing what is good for my body, I have been exercising, and eating pretty well.? I feel really good, and the weight will come off, it isn’t if it is when.?

rn

Dh has been fishing in Louisiana, and it has been very cold.? I told him that the fish he caught jumped into the boat to keep warm.? lol

rn

Have a great day everybody!? Do it don’t just try!

I shoveled snow and lived! lol

Hi Everyone,

rn

This morning I shoveled snow again, and it was no problemo!  Yea for me!  I zipped right through shoveling the front sidewalk, and steps, the back sidewalk, and steps, and a whole double car wide driveway in a half an hour.  I think that my exercise this year really helped me to be able to do that, and not have a heart attack.  This was the second time this week that I did this.  Boy am I impressed with myself even if no one else is.  lol

rn

This fall I bought a snow suit in preparation for the event that I had to go outside during inclement weather.  So this morning I had shredded wheat with soy milk, and of course my coffee.  I put the snow suit and boots by the door to get ready to go out and shovel snow.  I was dressed warmly, and when I went out the day seemed really pleasant.  Yesterday it snowed, and today it snowed, and it is supposed to snow until Wednesday.  I think I am going to get a lot of exercise in this week.

rn

On another note, in our area there was a terrible fire.  A mother and six children were killed in a fire.  All of you out there please make sure you have a fire alarm, and if any of you are on welcoming committees think of giving a fire alarm for a gift in the gift basket.

rn

I hope all of you are warm and healthy!  Take care.  Have a great day.

Exercise

Hi Everyone,

rn

Today I put on my music, and exercised on the bike, and the ab-doer.  The ab-doer has directions with the video, but I like to do the exercises with music.

rn

It is supposed to snow again today and tomorrow; so I bought enough groceries that will last while the weather is bad, then I won’t have to go on the icey roads.

rn

I was supposed to go to a baptismal party tomorrow, but decided not to go becauses of probable icey roads.  There are a lot of nice days to travel, and as much as I wanted to see everyone driving in this weather isn’t worth it.

rn

Earlier this week it snowed, and I shoveled the front sidewalk, and the back side walk, and the whole double garage driveway in a half an hour!  Aren’t you proud of me.  lol  I am somewhat surprised and impressesd wlith myself.  lol

rn

I usually shoveled the snow when my husband was working, but he has been shoveling it since he retired.

rn

Hope all of you are well.  Take care.

Snow day

Hi Everyone,

rn

Yesterday my computer had a snow day.  I was really on a roll yesterday, and made two days of oatmeal, and two days of chicken breasts.  We had a lot of snow, and when I tried to record food in the journal the computer was down.  I just got the service back today.

rn

DH went to his brothers to fish for two weeks.  He went by plane, and he had a delay, but arrived, but his luggage didn’t.  The luggage had been delayed also, and came on a different plane.  The airline sent the luggage way later that day.  DH packs like he is moving, and if the luggage would have been permanently gone he would have had to go shopping.

rn

I hope all of you are well, and achieving your goals.  Take care.

rn

Have a great day!

Valentine candy

Hi Everyone,

rn

Yesterday DH and I went to dinner.  I had salmon and vegetables, and the dinner was very nice.  On the way home DH asked me if I wanted a box of Valentine candy.  I told him no, and he looked disappointed, because it was him who really wanted the candy.  So I decided to get a very small box of candy.  I went to the store and bought a four ounce box of Valentine candy.  We each had two ounces, and our sweet tooth was satisfied.  We were content with that amount.

rn

Well have a great day!

rn

Don’t do this at home! lol

Hi Everyone,

rn

You saw the picture of my mother and father, they look sweet there don’t they?  After having several children my mother was exercising, and watching her diet.  My father brought her a large box of candy for Valentines’ day.  She was so upset she threw it down on the floor and jumped up and down on them.  I guess that is one way to deal with a sabateur.  lol

rn

My “sabateur” is going on vacation for a couple of weeks, and I think that I am going to eat a lot better.  We are like the odd couple when it comes to eating.  He loves fried, breaded, gravy, etc.

rn

Well everyone have a great evening, and weekend.

New fire detector

Hi Everyone,

rn

This morning my husband woke me up because the fire alarm was going off.  There wasn’t a fire that we are aware of, but my husband checked everything all day.  This evening he got a new fire alarm that flashes lights when it goes off.  Luckily for us it seems that the problem was a faulty alarm.

rn

This morning I made oatmeal for DH and I, and I mixed a cup of pineapple in mine.  We had soup for dinner.  Tomorrow I want to make something more satisfying.

rn

We were going to go to Virginia to see my grandson sign up for the division A football team University of Virginia, but the weather is going to be really bad, and we don’t want to drive on icy roads.

rn

I put a picture on that some of you may like of my rose bush.  I love my wild and wooly rose bush; I planted it when my children were still young.  Rose bushes can live fifty years, and mine may be twenty-five or thirty.

rn

All of you have a great evening!  Stay healthy and warm!  Take care.
