One month

Hi Everyone,

It has been a month ago today that my husband was killed on a motorcycle.  I have forced myself to keep on a schedule, which includes diet and exercise.

I went to my daughters, and she wanted me to stay the weekend, but I am allergic to her sweet animals.  I really like them, and they like me, but I really cough a lot when I am near them.

My daughter had a financial adviser come to talk to me; I really didn’t feel like it at all, but did it for her.

My granddaughter is staying with me for a couple of days, and she is wonderful.

Well; take care everyone; I hope you reach your goals.

Hi Everyone,

I have been busy giving away food.  Our refrigerator was full, but didn’t have anything in it, that was good for a person who was watching cholesterol.

I made a crockpot full of boneless skinless chicken breasts; I cooked them with one can of broth, and one can of diced tomatoes, one sliced onion, and one diced garlic clove.  I divided them into six separate containers, and froze them.

It feels strange to be cooking just for myself.

My children have been calling, and my brother and his wife have been wonderful to me.  My brother is helping me by doing some of the things that my husband was planning on doing.  I bought paint, and my brother painted the back of the house.  My daughter, granddaughter, niece, and I painted the bottom of the house last year.  This summer my husband was going to paint the back of the house.  We previously decided to paint one fourth of the house a year so it gets done, and keeps the looks of the house up.

I made chicken salad sandwiches for my brother and I on whole grain bread, with lettuce from the garden.

My granddaughter is coming here for the weekend, and my daughter is coming here for a week.

I am feeling sadder than I have ever been in my life, but I am keeping busy.  I was riding the bike this morning, and I wasn’t thinking, and I rode it for forty minutes.  Riding the bike helps me get started in the morning.  I put my coffee, and phones right on the little TV stand by my bike, and then I go.

I hope all of you are well, and reach your goals soon.

No right or wrong way to grieve

Hi Everyone,

rn

I put my exercise bike right in front of the TV in the livingroom, and I have been doing my exercise pretty often.  I really don’t feel like it, but I just get on it and before I know it my thirty minutes is up.

rn

I went to the grocery store yesterday, and for the first time in many years I shopped for one.  I came home, and put everything away.  Yesterday my daughter and her family went home, they had stayed for an extra week with me.

rn

I keep thinking my husband will come home anytime, but I know he won’t.  I went to the graveyard a couple of times, and it still doesn’t seem real.

rn

I keep seeing little things that are small, but remind me of him.  Having my children around was great, and it kept my mind busy.  Today I have been going through old papers, and getting rid of them.

rn

I had our RV inspected, and I am going to learn to drive it.  A man who works on RV’s said that if I can drive our big car, I will be able to easily drive an RV.  My grandchildren slept a couple of nights in it this weekend.

rn

I am really ready for sleep tonight.  Take care all of you, and may all of you reach your goals.

Farewell Cookie Monster

Hi Everyone,

rn

Yesterday we buried my husband, i.e. “cookie monster”.  On Wednesday my husband exercised about an hour, mowed the lawn, and visited friends within walking distance of our house.  Our car was in the garage getting fixed, and was ready to get picked up the next day.   He wanted to go see how the car was doing.  I asked him to just call and find out, but he was wanting an excuse to ride his motorcycle.  He was taking his time I thought; so I decided to try the rotisserie, and I was making chicken on it for the first time.  Two policemen came to my door.  I was apprehensive since I always worried when my husband left on the motorcycle.  They told me that he had died.

rn

Last week I told him my concern about motorcycles.  I said, “At least in a car you have a seat belt, and something around you to protect you, when your on a motorcycle you don’t have much  of a chance.

rn

My house has had hundreds of people here, and many people have sent food.  We have fed people Thursday through Sunday.  My neighbors lent me a tent, and tables.  I wasn’t able to eat for awhile, but my children kept after me to make sure that I ate.

rn

He really packed a lot into his retirement, and I am happy I always let him go.

rn

We were married 47 years.  I met him when I was 17.  I am going to miss that man, i.e. cookie monster.

rn

All of you take care.
